AQSF - Art Quilt Santa Fe

ART QUILT SANTA FE is a quilt workshop, a fiber art workshop and a quilt retreat dedicated to supplying a unique Santa Fe experience. We provide workshops that include quilting techniques, fiber art techniques, understanding color and design, working on and creating quilts under the mentoring and direction of experienced nationally known teachers and quilters.

Ann Anastasio gave lectures and workshops to quilt guilds and taught adult and children's classes for 25 years in Northern California before moving to New Mexico. She organized a quilt challenge group, a progressive group, curated several quilt displays and shows. She is the co-representative for New Mexico SAQA and is the chair of the local art quilt group of the Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild. Since her move to New Mexico, her specialty is landscape quilts.  Check out her work at .

With her friend Lani Longshore, Ann created Broken Dishes Repertory Theatre, a quilting/musical comedy duo that entertain at guilds and conventions.

Gale Oppenheim-Pietrzak has always loved color, texture, fabric, beads and fiber arts. She has been crocheting, knitting, weaving and sewing her whole life. She recently moved to Santa Fe from Southern California and fell in love with art quilting. Art quilting allows Gale a new freedom that is an extension to the traditional quilting she has done before.

Gale joined the Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild and met Ann. They discovered a common interest in sharing both the art quilt and the Santa Fe experience with others...and AQSF was created.
